Award-winning Oil Painter
Monica’s love of the outdoors combined with the joy of painting makes “en plein air” a perfect fit. The play of sun and shade on old buildings, trees and water provide her favorite subjects. The countryside around Bucks County and Hunterdon County provides a constant source of inspiration. Her paintings are often characterized by bold, visible brush strokes.
After years of dabbling in watercolor, pencil and pastels, Monica was inspired to try oil painting after a chance encounter with a plein air painter in Sedona, and she has never looked back. Since then she has been studying plein air and alla prima studio painting with award-winning painter Trisha Vergis, as well as Ty Hodanish, Bob Beck and Jim Lukens. Monica’s paintings have been shown in many exhibitions and juried shows in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She lives in Lambertville, New Jersey, where she maintains her studio.
